Cottage cheese makes way into so many of our desserts too. Apart from these indulgent preparations, it can make for a healthful food too. Many people also consume raw cottage cheese with black pepper or add it to their salads for its milky flavor and numerous health benefits. They are rich in proteins, maintains blood sugar levels, good for heart health and are also rich source of folate. There are many dishes which can be made using cottage cheese. Here is a yummy dessert which is easy to make. Try it out and do give a feedback.
Ingredients:
Milk - 1 litre
Lemon - 4 tsp
Semolina - 4 tbs
Saffron strands - few
Sugar - 150 gms
Orange Food color – A pinch
Water – 200 ml
Cardamom powder - ½ tsp
Method:
Boil milk and add lemon juice and keep stirring until the milk gets fully curdled. Now strain and take out the cottage cheese. Wash it thoroughly with water to remove the lemon odor and squeeze it thoroughly in a muslin cloth to drain the water completely. Now add semolina along with a pinch of food color and cardamom powder to the freshly made cottage cheese. Keep kneading with palm for 2-3 minutes until it becomes soft. Now make small balls of this and keep aside. Boil sugar and water in a pan till the sugar dissolves. Add saffron strands to this sugar syrup. Now add the cottage cheese balls to the sugar syrup and cover it with a lid. Allow this syrup to boil to 7-10 minutes so that the sweetness enters the cottage cheese balls. The color and the flavor of the this dessert is amazing.
