What’s On Your List When It Comes To Finding A Partner?

We all have some idea of the type of person that we want to be with. However, the real question is, if we have a list, should we follow it?

Personally, I have never been a person to have a list. Well, at least I thought that I wasn’t lol. One thing that I knew for sure was that I wanted to be with someone that I am mentally, physically, and sexually attracted to. It didn’t matter to me what type of job my partner had or if they were financially successful or stable. I was only concerned with the fact of having a connection with them and vice versa. But with age and wisdom, that has changed. Being attracted to my partner is not enough. If I wrote my list today, it would read:

  • Mental, physical, and sexually attractive

  • Spiritual

  • A nice, kind-hearted, loving, and good person

  • Into Fitness and Being Healthy

  • Vegetarian or Vegan

  • Career-oriented

  • Loves kids (wants a family)

You are probably looking at my list and saying WOW that is a lot lol. And you may be correct. However, I feel that it is important for us to have a list so that we are not going into a relationship blindly. Some of us tend to be with a person even though they are not our type because we feel some form of emotion for them (It can’t be described as love yet, that may depend on how long you have been with the person).

Now take a moment and think about what is on your list. Does the person that you are interested in fit with the things that you want in a partner. Or do you feel the list doesn’t matter? My answer to that is ‘To Each its Own’. No one person can tell you how to feel when it comes to finding a partner. The most important thing of all is that you do what will make you happy. We all know that there is no such thing as a perfect person, so how can we look for the perfect mate.

So, in conclusion, if you have a list, decide if you want to follow it or not. If you don’t have a list, consider making one. If none of that matters to you, then that works too.

Good Luck.
