Weeknight Beef and Broccoli

Ingredients 

  • 1 pound beef (chuck, sirloin, etc.)

  • 2 tbs soy sauce 

  • 2 tsp rice wine or apple cider vinegar 

  • 2 tsp cornstarch 

  • 1/4 tsp baking soda (this makes the magic h) 

  • 1 tsp Black pepper 

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp onion powder

  • 1/2  tsp ground ginger 

  • 2 cloves garlic (minced) 

  • 1/2 tsp ginger (minced or ginger paste) 

  • 1/2 small onion (chopped) 

  • Broccoli (1 head fresh or 1 frozen steam bag cooked for 3-4 minutes and drain if using frozen) 

  • 1-2 tablespoons cooking oil  

The Sauce 

  • 1 tbs soy sauce or liquid aminos

  • 1 heaping tsp sugar 

  • 1 tsp cornstarch 

  • 1 tbs apple cider vinegar or rice wine

  • 1tsp black pepper 

Now Let’s Cook

  1. Slice or cube beef to desired size if needed and then place beef In a small to medium bowl and add cornstarch, baking soda, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, soy sauce, 1tsp rice wine toss until beef is well coated set aside and make sauce whisk all ingredients for sauce together and set aside 

  2. Heat cooking oil in wok or medium to large skillet over medium high heat. Add previously prepared beef mixture along with onion, garlic, and ginger brown meat will add sauce and cook for 1-2 minutes then toss in broccoli and combine until both the broccoli and beef are covered in sauce. Garnish with sesame seeds (optional) 

  3. Serve over white rice or veggie fried rice
