Series 'The Wayfinders' Star Evan Nikolas Fields Talks to YV Media

YVM: When did your actor’s journey begin? What moment sparked your interest in being in the entertainment industry?

Evan Nikolas Fields: My acting journey began at the start of middle school when I joined the theater department and realized how much I enjoyed it, inspiring me to pursue it further.

YVM: Share a bit about the new series, The Wayfinders, your character, and what it was like preparing for and filming your first lead role.

Evan Nikolas Fields: The Wayfinders is a fantasy adventure about a group of kids pulled into another world and forced to discover who they are under real pressure. I play Flynn Griffin, who begins unsure of himself but gradually realizes he is capable of leading, even when he doesn’t feel ready. Preparing for my first lead role involved understanding Flynn’s full arc, tracking where he starts and ends, and identifying the moments when his self-belief finally clicks.

YVM: What’s at least one lesson you’ve learned about yourself through playing other characters on screen? What’s one take away gained from Flynn Griffin?

Evan Nikolas Fields: Playing other characters has taught me to stay curious and open to discovery. From Flynn, I learned to trust myself more and that you don’t need all the answers to step up and move forward.

YVM: What are a few words of encouragement for someone who may struggle with confidence or believing in themselves?

Evan Nikolas Fields: You don’t need to have everything figured out to believe in yourself. Confidence grows by taking small steps and showing up, even when you’re unsure.

YVM: Best acting and/or life advice you’ve received so far? 

Evan Nikolas Fields: The best advice I’ve received is to use vulnerability as a strength, not a weakness. The moments when you feel exposed or unsure are often the most honest.
