On Monday, September 22, Your Voice Media and Bring It Back were front and center at the Urban Flesh Eaters premiere at NCG Cinema in Brookhaven. From the glitz of the red carpet to exclusive cast interviews and being among the first to see the film on the big screen, it was a night to remember. Even the actors were seeing it for the first time—no sneak peeks, no rehearsed reactions, just raw first impressions.
Although marketed as a zombie thriller, Urban Flesh Eaters surprises with well-timed comedic moments that provide relief amid tension. Cyn (Chantal Maurice) navigates motherhood during chaos, Jarred (Josiah Ekari) uses his zombie expertise to guide the group, and Luci (Ashley Forrestier) offers humor and loyalty. Jackson Blaze (Maurice P. Kerry) proves appearances can be deceiving, while Mr. Elmo (Chris Rumble) surprises with unexpected depth. Wizkid’s comedic performance rounds out an ensemble that balances suspense, laughter, and heart.
Co-written by Lynette J. Blackwell and executive produced by hip-hop legend Rob Base, Urban Flesh Eaters stars Chantal Maurice, Maurice P. Kerry, Ashley René Forrestier, and Jason Louder. The film follows Cyn, a devoted nurse and grieving mother trapped in a high-rise during a violent zombie outbreak, as she fights to reunite with her children.
Set to premiere on Apple TV and TUBI September 2025, the movie blends suspense, parental devotion, grief, and community survival, offering a fresh and emotional take on the zombie genre. Rob Base also contributes to the original score, marking his first feature film as Executive Producer.
