The queen of the Barbz and the king of trolling are back at it again. Nicki Minaj and Tekashi 6ix9ine announced the release of their new single “Trollz” today on Instagram.
The new single is scheduled to drop on Friday, June 12th. The collaborators also announced that a portion of the proceeds- including merchandise- will go to The Bail Project Inc to support protesters who have been arrested.
The “Good Form” rapper is receiving a bit of backlash for collabing with 6ix9ine given his reputation of being a snitch. Following his early release from prison due to the coronavirus, he went live on IG to further admit to being a snitch. After that, most assumed that he would struggle to get other artists to work with him- hence his recent IG caption.
This isn’t the first time the two have linked up though. In July of 2018 the two released their single “FEFE” and it did considerably well...so maybe Nicki simply wanted to keep the same energy. As far as 6ix9ine, it doesn’t seem like his being a snitch has affected his success very much.
“Trollz” comes after the release of his comeback single, “GOOBA” which came in #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 last month, despite 6ix9ine claiming that Billboard “cheated.” The Brooklyn rapper has also been seen working with Akon on a “Locked Up” part two for his upcoming album.
