In today’s time when corona virus is attacking people across the globe, it has become mandatory to keep our lungs healthy and strong. Though we all have a general idea that how we can keep our lungs healthy which includes the following preventive measures.


1. Don't Smoke

2. Avoid Exposure to Indoor Pollutants That Can Damage Your Lungs.

3. Minimize Exposure to Outdoor Air Pollution

4. Prevent Infection.

5. Get Regular Check-ups

6. Exercise


Exercises like walking, skipping, aerobic activities and muscle strengthening activities can benefit your lungs. Steam therapy is the best way to cleanse the lungs. Also having anti inflammatory foods like curcumin, beans, lentils, green leafy vegetables will help to keep the lungs healthy.


Since ages, Indians have been making their food using curcumin. Without curcumin no cuisine is complete. Apart from the food there are certain age old traditional kaadhas (hot beverages) which helps the lungs to stay healthy which is actually the need of the hour in today’s scenario.


Following is a recipe of herbal tea which will help to keep your lungs healthy and moreover it is very easy to make with just few ingredients which have their own medicinal properties.


HERBAL TEA

Ingredients:

Water : 100 ml

Basil leaves : 5-6

Cardamom powder : 1/4th tsp

Jaggery : 20gms

Black peppercorn powder : 1/4th tsp

Turmeric powder : 1/4th tsp


Method:

Heat water and then add all the ingredients. Let these ingredients boil for 4-5 minutes. Now strain this decoction into a mug. Squeeze half lemon juice. Drink this herbal tea 2-3 times a day and stay healthy.
