After nearly 6 years in prison, 29-year old Chad Marshall aka Rowdy Rebel, was released yesterday. The Brooklyn rapper's return has made it a great end to 2020 for the rest of the GS9 crew, although we're still awaiting the release of Bobby Shmurda.

Bobby, Rowdy, and some other GS9 crew members were arrested back in 2014 on a multitude charges including, murder, drugs, weapons and conspiracy. Bobby and Rowdy plead guilty and received the same sentence of about 7 years, but unfortunately, Bobby's parole was denied back in September. He is now scheduled to be released in December of 2021.

Although, that didn't stop his excitement for his close friend Rowdy Rebel. While Rowdy was live on Instagram the day of his release, he was on the phone with the "Hot N*gga" rapper.

"Welcome home my big bro, you already know you deserve it n*gga, we bout to turn up like no f*cking tomorrow n*gga,"
- Bobby Shmurda

He also thanked his fans for the love and support. I'm sure it'll be one big turn up when he comes home, just as it was for Rowdy.

Friends, family, fans, and fellow musicians alike were happy to welcome Rowdy home yesterday. French Montana, Juelz Santana, Quavo, Cardi B and more all showed their love on social media.

So, don't be surprised if you hear nothing but Rowdy's very popular single "Computers" on your timeline today, as the song has become his anthem. It also looks like we'll be getting some new music from him sooner than later, seeing that he's already hit the studio.

His latest track was "Make it Rain" with the late Pop Smoke that dropped back in June. He recorded his feature via collect call from prison.

The song debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 chart & was on Pop's album Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon. This became Rowdy's first charting single- hopefully, one of many to come.

Welcome home Rowdy Rebel!
