CORAL CASTILLO

Keep an eye on her ... Coral Castillo is certainly one of the brightest stars in the “panorama” of young emerging international designers.

Born in Mexico City, Coral found her passion for designing clothing at a very young age: her mom was a dress-maker and Coral grew up with the exposure to fine fabrics and custom made clothing: she learned to sew by hand at the age of 6 creating models for her dolls and at 12 she already sewed with the sewing machine.

As seen in Coral Castillo's bio (coralcastillo.com), in 2005, she started designer for a selective few without any guidance or training in fashion. In pursuit of her passion she studied Fashion Design at The Art Institute of California. She graduated with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Fashion Design and in 2012, she was awarded best portfolio. In 2013 she was recognized as one of the best designers in Orange County.

Her work has been published in the most important world fashion magazines, one for all VOGUE. She said: "I loved to see mom's fittings, especially the faces of her clientele when they slipped in the dress that mom made. They were so beautiful! ... I make fashion to recreate that happiness! "

Coral Castillo’s collections are full of stunning pieces with a big structure, feminine ethereal and light. Textures are always precious, shapes are precious after almost dramatic, the preferred color is certainly black: to emphasize the beauty of the woman because ... a dress or piece of clothing could make that beauty bright at it's most.
