What sparked your interest in acting and who is your source of inspiration?

I started to act while watching telenovelas when I was a toddler; I used to watch Marlene Favela and Sandra Echeverria a lot! Meryl Streep became my biggest inspiration when I got older and started to study acting.

Describe your introduction to the entertainment industry? What was it like joining the All-American cast?

At the age of seven, I did my first feature film. It was a lot of fun and I immediately fell in love. Sixteen years later, I get to experience a much bigger set [with All American]. It has been amazing so far! At first, I was nervous and felt a bit intimidated but all I needed was time. I've learned a lot and have had a great journey.

Joining the cast was very similar to my character, Vanessa Montes, who is new to Beverly Hills High and finds herself trying to make friends and enjoy life; that’s what I was trying to do while being part of the show.

How does your personal life experience add to the roles you play?

Growing up with a dream and working hard to watch it become a reality gives me the depth and passion I put into my characters. I come from a tiny island that is totally different from Los Angeles, so being here doing what I've always wanted grounds me and a bit of my journey shows up in each role I play.

You are starring in the upcoming film Safe House as Carla, tell us a bit about your character and the movie.

Carla is a very intelligent and bright girl who is studying medicine and wants a better life than what she had. She is a strong, independent woman who ends up being in the wrong place at the wrong time, and in less than 24 hours, her entire life changes. I am very excited to tell her story because I love playing strong female characters that inspire other women.

What advice do you have for an artist who wants to start acting?

My advice will always be to go for it. If you have a passion for acting or anything in life, try it, work hard, do the homework, and always stay positive and believe in yourself. It is a hard career that’s full of a lot of rejection, but if you believe in yourself and work hard, it is an amazing journey.

Which fictional character would be the most exciting to meet in real life and why?

Probably Wonder Woman! She is amazing, strong, fierce, and very loving. I would love for her to exist and to meet her in real life so I can learn from her.
