Adventure Awaits: Five Amazing Summer Road Trips

Summertime is the perfect time to go on road trips and cruise around. So to start off the season right, pack your bags, roll down the windows, and start exploring the beautiful scenic highways in the United States. Road trips offer riders and passengers charming small towns, unforgettable attractions, and stunning views. Whether you're looking for coastal views, mountain landscapes, or historic landmarks, there is a road trip for every traveler. Here are the five best road trips to take during the summer.

Scenic Road Trips Worth the Drive

California Pacific Coast Highway, also known as Highway one. It has one of the most scenic views in the country. Located in Southern California to Northern California, this route showcases the Pacific Ocean, dramatic cliffs, and sandy beaches. Travelers can stop at Santa Barbara, Big Sur, Monterey, and San Francisco. Visitors can also enjoy hiking trails, seafood restaurants, and beaches. This makes the drive ideal for everyone who likes to enjoy nature and photography.

For people who enjoy forests and mountains. The Blue Ridge Parkway is a great destination to visit. This scenic roadway goes through the Appalachian Mountains, and it’s known for the peaceful vibes and overlooking views. During the summer, visitors can hike through forests, look at waterfalls, and explore charming mountain towns. As you explore, you will catch some wildlife and colorful wildflowers to make the scenery memorable.

The Mother Road, the Main Street of America, or the Will Rogers Highway. This road has many different names, but as you know, it's called Route 66. America’s most historic highway. The original route stretches from Chicago to Santa Monica. Many travelers love traveling on Route 66 during the summer. Visitors can experience classic diners, vintage motels, roadside attractions, and local museums that showcase American history. Route 66 offers a nostalgic journey on the open road.

Going-to-the-Sun Road is one of the most amazing rides in the United States. Glacier National Park is one of the most iconic national landmarks in the state of Montana. In the summer months, this route shows peaks, lakes, waterfalls, and wildlife such as mountain goats and bighorn sheep. Travelers can stop and take a look at the scenic view throughout the park. The stunning scenery makes this road trip one of the most memorable.

One Last Stop: The Florida Keys

If you ever dreamt of riding along turquoise water, this is one of the bridges I suggest taking. The Overseas Highway is 113 miles. It connects mainland Florida to the Florida Keys. This tropical drive makes visitors pass through Key Largo, Islamorada, Marathon, and Key West. The activities or places you can visit are snorkeling, fishing, fresh seafood, and beautiful sunsets. The famous Seven Mile Bridge provides a beautiful view along the journey.

Road trips are the best ways to experience the beauty and diversity of the United States. California’s rugged coastline to Montana's towering mountains and Florida’s tropical islands, each route offers a unique adventure. It depends on whether you want to travel solo, with friends, or with family for the journey. These adventures provide memories and plenty of opportunities to explore. This summer, consider taking one of these road trips and make it worth your while. Also, make sure you have a full tank of gas, food, tell someone where you're going if traveling solo, and have a first aid kit with you.
